On Tuesday, September 15, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Caseyville Village Hall, Illinois State Senator Erica Harriss will host “Protecting Kids in a Digital World – An Educational Event for Parents on Online Safety, Social Media, & Hidden Threats.”
This is a governmental community service and educational event, not a political or campaign event. Its sole purpose is to provide parents and caregivers with practical information and resources to help protect children online.
Representatives from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Illinois State Police, both members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, will provide parents with practical information about the online risks children face today. Topics will include child exploitation tactics, cyberbullying, social media, privacy settings, digital footprints, emerging apps and real-world threats occurring in our communities.
